Supersonic - Oasis film

Went and saw this tonight, thought it was excellent. Very funny in places with great humour from both Liam and Noel. Got some great footage as well. West Ham get a few mentions. First recollecting an overnight brawl on a ferry to Holland when they were supporting The Verve in Feb 94, the band tell how they rowed with West Ham fans in the casino. Also there's great footage of the band celebrating our draw V Man U in 95 that denied Man U the title and gave it to Blackburn. They are at the studio in Wales recording Morning Glory. 'Come on you Hammers' is heard before a fire extinguisher is let off while. Def worth a watch. I'm off to dust down my cd's and dig that t shirt out....

Even though it's totally overblown...There were a few moments on Be Here Now which were pretty good...the following one Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants was a complete stinker and they haven't been much better since really...

Haven't seen this film yet, but what really appeals to me is the fact it only goes up to 1996
'Be Here Now' was the start of their downfall in my opinion

Eerie, Oasis would never have worked without Liam's voice. obviously Noel wrote almost every song but the voice of Liam is what hooked so many on to the band. fuck knows what's happened to his voice as he's still a youngish bloke but its painful to listen to him now

Liam's always been the funny one, some of his interviews with magazines (when they were worth buying) were hilarious. Noel was/is comical but it's more point scoring and boasting which bores the tits off you after a while

Arctic Monkeys did/have. The difference being Oasis were part of a movement, whereas those times have gone and we now live in an urban infested nightmare.

Shiiine was brilliant. Saw House of Love, Jesus Jones, Echobelly, Bluetones, Dodgy, The Farm, Ash, Cast and the Sheds. Great atmosphere all weekend. Many more laydees than we expected. And I did make it to Bez's pool party in the end.
Only downside was the giant bastard seagull that would knock on our chalet door at half seven each morning.

The thing that stands out for me is the crowds in their massive gigs, not a single twat just standing there filming it on his phone.

monto I remember that day they filmed that video as well, I was working at Tate and Lyles at the time, on the river jetty, wondered what was going on with the apache helicopters going over and landing at the gas works
